Who are we?
Third Age Matters is a customised aged-care placement and advocacy service for seniors living in Canberra and on the South Coast of NSW.
The principal, Bina Brown, is an Accredited Aged Care Professional who works with a licensed financial adviser specialising in aged care to get the best outcome.
Aged care issues
Finding the right aged-care solution is often an emotional and confusing process. The Australian system is particularly complicated, so it helps to know exactly what services are available and how the system works – to have the benefit of insider knowledge of the available options.
How we approach aged care
We can assist by showing you the possible options that meet your financial and care needs. We will also manage the paperwork for you. Because we offer a boutique service, you can be sure that any solution is tailored to what you are looking for. Finally, we can ensure that the move runs smoothly. Once in care we can keep an eye on things for you, keep you up to date and advocate on your behalf if necessary.

Step 1: Evaluating your options
Are you struggling to cope with everyday living? Are you aware of the full range of aged-care options? Do you need help evaluating whether it is time to move into residential aged care?
Step 2: Finding a suitable aged-care facility
Do you, or someone you care about, need to find a suitable aged-care facility. Would you like someone to guide you through the process including explaining RADs and DAPs? Are you keen to avoid the pitfalls?
Step 3: Moving into your new home
Are you, or someone you care about, moving into a retirement village or home? Do you need help to organise and coordinate the move, either because you can’t do it yourself or you don’t have time? Are you keen to minimise the stress associated with moving? Would you like someone to help settle you in to your new home?
4: Ongoing support
Do you or a loved one require ongoing support? Do you need assistance with Centrelink/DVA updates? Do you need an accredited aged-care professional to check on a loved one on a regular basis?
